The Center for Boys and Men, housed in the College of Health and Human Development, promotes research and community outreach in areas related to the psychological well-being of boys and men. The Center facilitates scholarly work on male gender role norms and diverse forms of masculinity and how they intersect with mental health. Equally importantly, the Center provides programs and trainings for local professionals to help them respond to the mental health needs of boys and men.

In the upcoming year, we will be...

  • Setting up trainings with mental health agencies, schools, and hospitals in Southern California
  • Developing a list of web sites and local resources
  • Creating a bibliography of research on men and boys
  • Hosting a Opening Event for the Center
